Road Freight FAQ's

What load options are there when transporting goods by Road Freight

Load options can range entirely down to your preference. Smaller consignments (1 – 10 pallets) can be catered for through our pallet-track network, but we can also offer dedicated loads.

We can confidently provide transport from anything as small as one pallet through to multiple dedicated loads.

Is there a shipment quality guarantee when transporting goods by Road Freight?

By using our unique track and trace system, your freight is constantly monitored. By scanning your consignment barcode added to your pallet; multiple scans guarantee that the quality is checked throughout its journey.

Are there goods that cannot transported by Road Freight?

We are unable to send dangerous/ hazardous goods along with personal effects through the Pallet-Track network, but if you would like to get in touch with us, we can arrange for another carrier to efficiently deliver your goods.

How do I prepare or pack my goods so they are ready for Road Freight?

All goods should be packed safely and securely to a 4-way pallet by either banding or shrink-wrap.

Can I track my shipment when using your Road Freight service?

We have an online customer portal, which allows you to identify the different stages of its journey that it has currently taken, which will also provide an estimated time of arrival.

What charges can I expect when transporting goods by Road Freight?

Usually, Road freight is a Door to Door / Warehouse to Warehouse service. Freight costs would exclude Customs clearance, and any local duties and taxes.

Timed surcharges may apply where access is only available within a set period throughout the day.


A home delivery surcharge is applicable on all residential deliveries.

What is the maximum weight when transporting goods by Road Freight?

The maximum pallet weight is 1200kg however if a tail lift is required, this is limited to 800kg.

Can I transport both pallets and parcels together by Road Freight?

Yes pallets and parcels can be transported together, as long as they are packed suitably for transport by Road. If possible, it would be advisable to palletise cartons.

What charges am I expected to pay by Road Freight?

Do goods arriving by road have to be cleared by customs?

If goods are coming from abroad (including Ireland) they will need to be cleared by customs. Customs clearance can take 2 – 3 days, providing that the correct and appropriate paperwork is provided.
